My Story
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to tell a little about myself and how I got started with my rabbits! My name is Calli, and my rabbits and I are located in southeast MN, right on the Mississippi. I will be a sophomore in high school this fall (2012). I have black and blue magpies, blues being my favorite. I now also have chocolates and lilacs! I bought my first Harlequin from a breeder in Wisconsin in 2010 to show for 4-H. That, then, led me to want to accept the challenge of breeding Harlequins. Then, I bought my first doe and another awesome buck to start out my breeding program. I have now had three litters and I plan on having at least a few more before my college days begin. My rabbit project isn't allowed to grow too much, though, because my family raises goats, also mostly for 4-H. My main focus for breeding is my county fair for 4-H, but I try to make it to other shows in my area if I can. In fact, at the most recent show I was at, my attention was brought to Rhinelanders! I traded two of my does for a buck of this new and interesting breed to me. I'm thinking about adding Rhinelanders to my breeding program, but that means I need to find another breeder in my area first! It seems that I fall in love with the most difficult breeds to try to breed. But I'm always up for a challenge!
There isn't much demand in my area for this breed, so my prices are low to draw interest. I strive for quality animals, just like anyone else! Most of my blues have exceptional deep color and clean bars and bands. I am working on good face splits and face-to-ear alternation. I would like to get a new buck with great type and clarity of color, let me know via email if you have something for sale that i might be interested in!
